Once we receive your application we will contact you with any questions we might have and to get to know you a little bit better. We consider ourselves matchmakers between humans and dogs so our main focus is matching up each of our dogs with the perfect forever home. If for some reason we do not feel that the dog you are applying for is just the right fit for you, we may recommend a different dog that would be a better fit for you. We strive to place each dog in a forever home, but if for any reason the adoption is just not working out for either you or the dog, the dog ALWAYS has a place in our rescue. Our adoption process involves an initial meet and greet where you can get to know the dog a little better. If the meet and greet went well for everyone we can schedule a home visit where we bring the dog to you to see if the dog gets along with current pets (if you have them,) get to meet any family members that where not at the meet and greet, and we can see the potential living environment for the dog (don’t worry, we do not wear white gloves to the home visit or peak in your closets!) After the home visit we ask you to take 24 hours to think about if the dog is a good fit for you or not. If it is a good match for you and the dog we will set up a time for the adoption to take place. With some of our dogs that may be shy with new people or may have some behavioral concerns we do encourage a pre-adoption trial fro up to one week to make sure that it is a good fit for all involved. If you have any questions about the adoption process please feel free to shoot us an email through our contact page.
